Business Intelligence - BI

BI is the new buzz word in the industry today. But what is it and why all the excitement? It is software that mines and explores data and provides information that can be used to make real-time decisions regarding performance management. This information can be in the form of exception conditions, analysis, score-carding, event management, dashboards, reports, etc. With this real-time, relevant information, businesses can easily monitor, analyze and act upon data. This relates to cutting costs, enhancing operation efficiencies and improving customer satisfaction and financial performance.

SouthWare®'s business intelligence is built into every fiber of the software.

Each role based user is presented with up-to-the-minute performance indicators and statistics on their individual portals.

Examples of business intelligence information on Portals:

  • For example the CFO portal has dashboard data such as cash and accounts receivable balances.  (Click here to see screen shot of CFO portal.)
  • Another example is the dashboard information on the CEO portal such as Invoiced PTD & YTD, YTD Net Income, Cash Balances, and much more.

The Alerts system scans through any SouthWare® data for any exception conditions you want to identify  and creates an alert. These alerts may appear on a portal as an alert, task (something that needs to be done as a result of an alert) or business indicator statistic. Alerts may also send email to users, customers, vendors, etc.

Examples of Alerts:

  • Accounts Payable invoice is late.
  • Accounts Receivable invoice is past due.
  • Purchase Order receipt is late.
  • Customer Return is late.
  • Vendor Return is late.
  • Part Exchange return is due to be returned in 2 days or is late.
  • Sales order needs follow-up.
  • Quote past expected close date.
  • Sales order past expected ship date.
  • Service Contract about to expire or has expired.
  • Block Time contract has less than $500 left in prepaid funds.
  • Service Ticket is late
  • No Client activity in the past 30 days.
  • Order is picked but not shipped.
  • Order is shipped but not invoiced.
  • Eval unit should be returned in 30 days.
